WILLIAM (BILL) TURNER
Founder & Principal, Turnco Consulting
Bill Turner is an Indianapolis-based strategic advisor and facilitator dedicated to empowering communities through education, workforce, and industry alignment.
With a career spanning executive leadership in national nonprofits, private industry, and elected governance, Bill brings a cross-sector lens to every engagement. He has served as Associate Vice President at Jobs for the Future, Chief Program Officer at the Markle Foundation, and Director of Global Education & Development at Allison Transmission, Inc., a global Fortune 500 company, where he aligned industry needs with workforce talent development.
In public service, Bill spent over 14 years on the Washington Township School Board, including multiple terms as President. He led through the challenges of COVID-19, oversaw budgets exceeding $155 million, and championed equity-focused reforms. He currently chairs the IndyReads Board and has served as chair of EmployIndy and the Wheeler-Dowe Boys & Girls Club.
Bill’s leadership is guided by the belief that lasting impact comes when strategy is inclusive, action-oriented, and deeply connected to the communities it serves.
